For the first pilot, users will be able to evaluate 4 pre-recorded audio files that were created with the eSpeak TTS Engine. Each audio file is a reading of a pre-selected text, from the europa.eu website.

There are 4 audio files for each language:

• One recorded with the pitch value at 50 and Speed value at 170
• One recorded with the pitch value at 90 and Speed value at 170
• One recorded with the pitch value at 50 and Speed value at 260
• One recorded with the pitch value at 90 and Speed value at 260

For each language, the default voice of the eSpeak has been chosen.

The following table provides the list of the available audio files (in ogg speex codec and MP3), for the available pilot languages.

For the evaluation, the questionnaire that was compiled with the guidance of the "Synthetic speech evaluation protocol" of RNIB Centre for Accessible Information, will be used.
